Baha'i Unity Ceremony

Max and Kari hosted a small Baha'i Unity Ceremony in Ventura, CA. In attendance were 20 immediate family members, to witness their life-long commitment to each other.
The ceremony was officiated by Kari's great-aunt, Alice. Kari's sister, Olivia, and cousin, Bella, read the Baha'i Marriage Tablet. Marcie Porter, Kari's grandmother, read a special marriage prayer to bless the couple on their journey. Kari's brother, David, played music during the ceremony, and Max's sisters, Athena and Abigail, decorated the ceremony.

Wedding Man

Max and Kari celebrated their nuptials at Burning Man.
2018 was their fifth consecutive Burn. After five years of growing individually and together, the playa has become a magical and sacred place for them. They entered the art festival riding the high of their new engagement, and decided to make their love known to all!
Max's sister, Athena, gifted Kari a beautiful dress. Kari crafted a suit jacket for Max, complete with re-attachable sleeves and a sunflower in the pocket. Kari's mom gifted her a gorgeous hair pin to go with her beautiful dress, and combat boots, of course. Many camp members gifted sweet presents to the couple during their wedding procession- diamond face adornments, a lovely tiara, and glow sticks aplenty. Their friend AJ appeared out of a dust cloud with a bouquet just in time for the ceremony.
Max's sister, Laura, officiated their wedding at sunset, on the top of the Big Imagination 747. They finalized their bond with a pickleback drink, and the exchange of silicone rings. Many camp members and friends continued a celebratory bicycle procession late into the night.
